Boiler broken down for good? How a fast replacement works
Updated 1 October 2026 · 2 minute read
Most people do not plan a new boiler. The old one stops one cold morning, the engineer says the part is not worth it or not available, and suddenly you need a replacement this week. Here is how to get through it quickly without paying over the odds.
First, is it really the end?
Not every breakdown means a new boiler. A replacement is usually the better spend when:
- the boiler is twelve to fifteen years old or more;
- it keeps losing pressure;
- it needs parts that are hard to get;
- the repair quote is a big one.
If yours is younger and the fault is simple, we will tell you. You get a straight answer, not a sales pitch.
Getting a price the same day
You do not need to wait for a survey. Send us your postcode, a photo of the boiler and the pipes under it, and where the flue goes out. For a standard gas swap that is enough for a fixed, fully fitted price, sent back on WhatsApp. Every new boiler starts from £1,900 with VAT.
How soon it can be fitted
Fitting is available from the next working day, and when a boiler has already failed we move you up the diary where we can. One of our Google reviews puts it plainly: “Called out in an emergency for a boiler replacement and was fitted within 2 days at a reasonable price.”
On the day
A like-for-like combi swap is usually done in one day. The old boiler comes out, the system is flushed, a magnetic filter goes on, the new boiler goes in and is commissioned, and you have heating and hot water again that evening. Your warranty is registered on the day and you get your Gas Safe certificate.
Staying warm until then
Plug-in heaters and an immersion heater, if you have a cylinder, will get you through a night or two. If you smell gas at any point, leave the house and call the National Gas Emergency number on 0800 111 999.
In Neath and the west
