Off the gas grid in the Vale: LPG and oil boilers

Not every home in our patch has mains gas. Some villages and farmhouses around Llantwit Major, St Athan, Llanmaes and Cowbridge run on LPG from a tank, or on oil. If that is you, a new boiler works a little differently.

LPG boilers

We install, service and repair LPG boilers. An LPG boiler does the same job as a mains gas boiler, but it runs on gas stored in a tank or bottles on your property rather than from the main in the street. The install has extra checks around the supply, and it needs to be done by an engineer qualified for LPG.

Oil boilers

We are now registered to work on oil boilers. Oil installs involve the tank, the supply line and the boiler itself, and every home is set up differently, so these jobs always start with a site visit.

Why off-grid jobs start with a visit

For a standard mains gas swap we can usually price from photos. For LPG and oil we want to see the tank, the supply route, the flue position and the boiler in person before we put a number on it. You still get a fixed price before any work starts. We do not publish a starting figure for LPG or oil, because the job varies too much from house to house.

Coastal flues

Homes near the coast at Llantwit Major take more wind than most. Wherever the flue goes, it has to meet the manufacturer’s clearances, and we check that the plume will not blow back at the house or towards a neighbour.

Keeping it going

Any boiler, whatever it burns, should be serviced every year to keep its warranty valid and keep it running safely. We service LPG boilers as well as mains gas.

Getting started

Tell us your postcode, what fuel you are on, and what boiler you have now, and we will arrange the visit. See boiler installation in Llantwit Major or send your details.
